The build-up to Sunday’s big clash between South Eastern Women’s Football (SEWF) and the Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) is gaining momentum – with SEWF players to be presented with their playing kits at Casey Fields tonight.
SEWF Operations Manager Rod Hamilton had a roller-coaster ride this week, informing talented and equally deserving players if they were in and out of the side. What it means to the final team became clearly obvious with players chuffed when told of their selection.
The 2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships clash at RSEA Safety Park promises to be a beauty with SEWF coach Gary Sanford looking to emulate the deeds of the inaugural squad last year.
Coached by Megan Snart the SEWF girls overcame a determined Northern outfit to win a classic contest by one-point in extra time.
Sunday’s contest begins at 12 noon with SFNL partner Sportscast to work with commentators from AFL South East partner GameFace to bring you all the action live. The game will be broadcast live via the GameFace Facebook page.
Entry is FREE – so get along to RSEA Safety Park, Moorabbin, and support the girls in their endeavours.
We will provide numbered lists of both teams tomorrow, Thursday, May 16.
Good luck girls – we’re sure you’ll do the SEWF competition proud!
