He won’t be required to lay a strong tackle or even get a kick or a handball but Jarrod Mills is excited to be playing his role as a Coordinator of the 2019 SEJ Junior Development Program.
Mills is working closely with SEJ Operations Manager Nicole Edney to ensure the program runs smoothly ahead of the AFL South East Regional Junior Championships to be held on Wednesday 5, Saturday 8, and Monday 10 June.
And Mills’ job is a big one, with the SEJ fielding boys’ teams from under 13s to 17s and girls’ teams in under 14s, 16s and 18s. The finest talent from the SEJ will compete against the cream of the crop from the Frankston and Districts Junior Football League, Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League and AFL Outer East Junior Football over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
Putting a face to the name. Jarrod Mills is playing a key role as a Coordinator of the 2019 SEJ Junior Development Program.
The task of coordinating training and managing the correspondence between clubs, participants and parents is a big one, but Mills is excited to be taking on the role for the very first time.
“It’s exciting to be a part of a program that provides such great opportunity for so many players and coaches from right across the South East Juniors,” Mills said.
“We’re currently in the middle of an eight-week development program and it’s a big challenge to make sure everything does run smoothly.
“There’s a lot of people to deal with and communication is obviously the key. We just want people to know that I’m here to help and make the entire experience – from start to finish – an enjoyable one for everyone involved in the program.”
SEJ clubs and participants and parents involved in the 2019 SEJ Junior Development Program can contact Jarrod Mills via email at aflse.intern1@aflse.com.au or contact the Casey Fields Head Office on 5995 0555.
