From “Jesaulenko you beauty” through to “Leo Barry you star” – the greatest moments in Australian football have been elevated to legendary status through the dulcet tones of commentary.
And here is a wonderful opportunity for females 18 years and over to add their voice to the likes of Mike Williamson and Stephen Quartermain and make their own indelible mark on the football landscape.
‘Making The Call’ is an initiative from the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation – through its Change Our Game program – and is designed to address the lack of gender diversity in sports broadcasting and to create pathways for women’s voices in sport.
Making The Call is a sports media training program for women who have an interest in exploring sports broadcasting with the opportunity to learn and gain experience from a team of experts.
The unique program will be broken down into multiple courses with the first course focused on AFLW broadcasting.
The Change Our Game initiative is driving positive change across all levels of the Victorian Sport and Recreation sector and provides support and opportunities for women to take on and succeed in visible leadership roles.
