FDJFL’s finest take centre stage
A huge week of junior football action kicked off at Frankston Park on Wednesday night with the finest young talent in the FDJFL acknowledged at the 2018 Awards Night.
Best and fairest winners across 11 divisions were announced, with the top five from each division also acknowledged for their great play throughout the season.
And it wasn’t just the players who took centre stage, with clubs, volunteers, coaches and umpires also rewarded for their magnificent efforts across the course of the season.
Chelsea took out the prestigious Club of the Year Award, while Brett Harvey from Bonbeach was named the Volunteer of the Year, and Caleb Newitt from Frankston Rovers won the coveted BOQ Young Club Person of the Year.
John Hynes, Heath Donellan and Loretta Ilott made a clean sweep of the coaches awards, while Ayden McPherson, Benjamin Gorman and Ethan Lock were rewarded for their terrific efforts in the umpiring ranks.
The stage is now set for a bumper grand final day, where 18 teams will become 2018 premiers.
The action kicks off at 9.00am at Lloyd Park Langwarrin, and 9.30am at Frankston Park.
The FDJFL would like to congratulate all award winners and wish all grand final teams the very best of luck.
