Molina Asthana
Molina Swarup Asthana is the Principal of Swarup Asthana Lawyers, practicing in commercial law. Her previous experience includes working in top-tier firms Minter Ellison (Mergers & Acquisitions) and Clayton Utz (Banking & Finance) and as Principal Solicitor with the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office.
Molina sits on various boards including the Law Institute of Victoria and the Graduate House of the University of Melbourne. She is the President of the International Law Association Victorian Chapter, Vice President of the Asian Australian Lawyer’s Association, Victorian Convener of the Asian Australian Alliance and the co-chair of the Women in Business Chapter of the Australia India Business Council.
She is also the founder of the organisation Multicultural Women in Sport which aims to empower migrant women from multicultural backgrounds through sport and has been a Cricket Australia ‘Sport for All’ Community Ambassador and Commonwealth Games Ambassador.
She has received awards from multiple organisations for her work as a solicitor, including the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence for Service Delivery Community Service 2014 and for 2016. She was the winner of the Spirit of Sport Award at the India Australia Business and Community Awards 2017 and was a finalist for the Law Institute of Victoria- Access to Justice Award 2016 and the Inspirational Women of Yarra Award 2017.
Doug Bailey – SEJ
Fraser Bayne – FDJFL
For the past 10 years Fraser has served on the Mount Eliza Junior Football Committee (MEJFC) including five years as Vice-President and two Years as President. MEJFC has grown to now be arguably one of the largest Junior Football Clubs in Australia (over 750 player including 7 all girls teams) and is widely known as an innovator in junior sport with sound governance and fiscal management.
During his time at MEJFC, Fraser held the position of Club delegate on the FDJFL for four years. He was a key driver in the financial overhaul of the League resulting in reduced fees for Clubs and the strategic move for the League to align with AFL South East.
With a Bachelor of Business in Sport Management, professionally Fraser has a strong background in business management developed through his role as Chief Executive Officer of the Mornington Racing Club, where he oversaw the merger with the Melbourne Racing Club and most recently as Director of O’Brien Real Estate Mornington.
Fraser’s extensive understanding of grassroots football and commerce positions him well to assist the FDJFL and AFLSE move positively forward.
Scott Grimster
A Senior Research Officer for the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Scott’s detailed project management experience is an invaluable resource to the South East Commission.
A Life Member of the FDJFL Umpires Association, Scott was twice awarded the Umpire of the Year title and has extensive experience of umpiring at all levels. Scott also has a lengthy and detailed history of involvement in Basketball, including stints as a player, referee, volunteer and media commentator.
As a freelance writer and commentator, Scott has provided content, stories and commentary for Pro Basketball Today, Mornington Life Magazine, Holiday Magazine, Fairfax Media, DivelogMagazine, Real Estate Weekly, Weekly Review and Channel 7 News Melbourne.
Russell Jacgung
As a Project Manager for Building and Open Space Projects, Russell has been involved with local government for over 40 years. He has also had a long history of involvement in football on the Peninsula. Russell was Nepean FL Secretary from 1984-86, MPNFL Secretary from 1987-89 and an MPNFL Director from 1996-2007.
Russell has served on the MPNFL Independent Tribunal from 2008-12 and was Chair of the MPNFL History Committee from 2002 to 2013. He is a Life Member of the MPNFL. Russell brings a wealth of local football knowledge and history to the South East Commission. He resides in Mt Martha.
Ted Turner
Ted is a CPA public practitioner and registered tax agent with over 20 years of experience in providing invaluable advice to SME’s, Individuals and Superannuation Funds. Passionate about supporting his clients through all of their taxation and accounting needs, he takes pride in the impact he has been able to have on the continued success of their businesses.
A massive sports lover, Ted is a former President of Edithvale-Aspendale Sporting Club in the MPNFL. Ted is also an avid follower of the Kangaroos in the AFL. Cricket and horse racing are Ted’s other sporting passions. Ted, his wife Brooke and their two boys are long-time bayside residents.
Peter Wakeling – MPNFL
Peter worked for over 30 years as a Senior Manager of Operational Risk Management in the Finance and Banking sector, with particular interest in fraud control and workers compensation. He completed six years as an Investigator with the Victorian Workcover Authority.
Peter played football in the VAFA and Federal League and was a member of premiership sides in both competitions. He also played in cricket premiership sides in the Federal District Cricket Association and City of Moorabbin Cricket Association.
Peter has over 25 years’ experience in Sporting Club administration in both Football and Cricket.
