Frankston Dolphins JFC seeking expressions of interest for Under 17 coach for season 2018.

The Frankston Dolphins JFC is one of the largest junior sporting clubs in the City of Frankston, having fielded 18 junior teams comprising approximately 400 children in 2017, along with a successful Auskick program with over 100 children participating and is Level 3 Good Sports and AFL Quality Club accredited.

With a strong junior football program established at the club which saw 7 teams participate in finals in 2017 spread across the junior age groups from Under 11 through to Under 15 and three grand finalists, the future is bright.

Our junior teams have generally been coached by parents, however, for 2018 we are looking for a coach who can further develop and extend the skills of this team and prepare them for the transition to Under 19 and senior football at the club.

We are seeking a coach that can demonstrate the following qualities:

  • A strong commitment to grow, develop, mentor and teach players of all abilities
  • A positive and welcoming attitude
  • Strong communication skills both on and off the field
  • The ability to embrace the clubs community values and expectations
  • Previous experience preferred but not essential
  • Either has or be prepared to undertake a Level 1 and/or 2 Coaching Course
  • Provide game day coaching expertise and leadership
  • Develop a training program in consultation with other coaches and implement
  • Develop a game plan for the 2018 season to suit playing resources
  • Provide reports to the Committee throughout the season if requested

The Frankston Dolphins JFC is committed to the ongoing development of our coaches, including assistance to coaches attaining relevant accreditation, external education programs and ongoing in-house mentoring and support from our coaching co-ordinator Gavin Artico, who has a wealth of experience coaching at a range of levels from VFL to juniors.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to establish themselves as a coach at the highest junior level with the potential to progress their coaching career through to senior ranks.
